## 10. Calibrated examples

These examples demonstrate classification. They are not templates to repeat verbatim.

### Portrait hand and ring

- **Finding:** Probable artifact, severity 2 — Moderate, high confidence.
- **Evidence:** On the subject-left hand, located on the viewer-right side of the image, the ring band merges into two adjacent fingers while the visible palm and finger paths require separate surfaces.
- **Benign explanation:** Motion blur is weak because nearby skin edges are sharp.
- **Repair target:** Reconstruct separate finger edges and one continuous ring around the intended finger.

### Closed glass boundary

- **Finding:** Confirmed artifact, severity 3 — Major, very high confidence.
- **Evidence:** The proximal forearm is clearly inside the vehicle while its continuous hand is clearly outside. Their visible path crosses an uninterrupted closed pane; the frame and glare establish the glass plane, and no opening or break exists at the crossing.
- **Repair target:** Place the arm wholly on one side or depict a compatible opening/break.

### Rain and umbrella

- **Finding:** Possible issue/manual review, not a confirmed artifact.
- **Evidence:** The hair under the canopy appears wet, but side wind and prior exposure could explain it; the image does not establish elapsed time.
- **Action:** Do not flag unless another visible cue contradicts the protected region.

### Clothing transition

- **Finding:** Confirmed artifact, severity 3 — Major, high confidence.
- **Evidence:** The same distinctive striped jacket is fully worn and also independently held as a removed jacket, with no duplicate person, reflection, or second garment.
- **Repair target:** Preserve only the intended worn, partially removed, or held state.

### Anime character

- **Not flagged:** Large eyes and four simplified fingers are consistent with the character style.
- **Finding:** Probable artifact, severity 2 — Moderate, high confidence, if a sword grip floats outside the closed hand outline and breaks the otherwise clean layer order.
- **Repair target:** Rebuild the hand-sword overlap in the same line and shading style.

### Fantasy creature

- **Not flagged:** Non-human limb count and levitation are supported by the world rules.
- **Finding:** Confirmed artifact, severity 3 — Major, high confidence, when one wing visibly attaches to two incompatible torso locations in the same body design.
- **Repair target:** Choose one coherent wing root and reconnect the visible structure.

### Product label

- **Artifact finding:** Confirmed artifact. Central wordmark glyphs fuse into non-characters, severity 4 — Critical for final commercial use, very high confidence.
- **Conformance:** Material mismatch; source: prompt. The requested product name is not satisfied.
- **Acceptability:** Needs targeted repair; exact replacement is localized and can preserve package perspective and material.
